Bandung Regency encourages economic development through the Sabilulungan 1000 Kampung Program. The development of 1000 villages are expected to be able to develop new nodes of economic activity with the characteristics of each region and is expected to be able to boost the regional economy in Bandung Regency. The Sabilulungan 1000 Kampung program is in accordance with the potential of small businesses and small or home industries that are developing in rural areas of Bandung Regency. As an illustration, there are concentrations of economic activities such as shoe production activities in Dayeuh Kolot District, jeans in Kutawaringin District, sarongs in Majalaya District and its surroundings, and others that are developed independently by local business actors. Even though these activities develop independently, their development cannot be separated from problems that can hinder their contribution to the development of the local economy and the wider region. Based on these problems, efforts are needed to identify the potentials and problems currently faced by the Majalaya woven sarong industry, by understanding the conditions of the factors that affect economic development in sarong production activities. By identifying the potentials and problems faced, it will be known what is needed in developing the Majalaya woven sarong industry that is developing in Majalaya District and its surroundings.
